Before You Book: What to Expect from Castle Color Photography
Choosing a photographer is a personal decision. Your photographs are not just images on a screen. They are memories you will return to for years, and the person you choose should be someone whose work, personality, and approach feel like the right fit for you.
At Castle Color Photography, my goal is to create a relaxed and meaningful experience where you feel comfortable being yourself. I want your session to feel less like a performance and more like time spent together creating memories.
Choosing the Right Photographer
I hope you never feel pressured to book a photographer simply because they responded first.
While I do my best to respond to inquiries in a timely manner, I do not believe photography should be chosen based solely on who replies the quickest. The right photographer is someone whose work speaks to you, whose style matches the way you want your memories captured, and someone you feel comfortable trusting with important moments in your life.
Take the time to explore my portfolio, learn about my process, and decide if Castle Color Photography feels like the right fit.
I may not be the fastest photographer, the least expensive photographer, or the right photographer for everyone. My goal is to create meaningful work for clients who value the experience, creativity, and care that goes into each session.
A More Intentional Approach
I intentionally limit the number of sessions I book each week. This allows me to give each client the time, attention, and flexibility they deserve.
Photography does not always happen on a perfect timeline. Children may need time to warm up, weather may change, or a family may simply need a few extra moments to feel comfortable. I would rather create a relaxed experience and meaningful photographs than rush through a session just to stay on a schedule.
Scheduling, Weather, and Backup Plans
When possible, we will choose two potential session dates when booking. Having a backup date gives us flexibility and increases our chances of creating the images you are hoping for.
For weather-related decisions, I typically make the call around 5:00 PM on the day of your session. My priority is always safety and creating the best possible final images rather than forcing a session when conditions are not ideal.
The Outer Banks weather can be unpredictable, but sometimes those unexpected moments create some of the most beautiful photographs. I am always willing to work with changing conditions, but I will never photograph during lightning or unsafe storms.
Communication
The best way to reach me is by text:
252-305-1393
I do my best to check messages regularly, but I am not always active on Facebook, and social media messages may not always be the fastest way to reach me.
If you call, please leave a message. I receive a large number of spam calls, and once I know there is a real person trying to reach me, I will return your call as soon as I am available.
Privacy and Sharing Your Images
I do not share every session online, and I never assume that clients are comfortable having their photographs publicly displayed.
You have complete control over how your images are shared. You may choose to allow your photographs to appear on my website and social media, only on my website, or remain completely private.
Your memories belong to you first. I am honored to preserve them in whatever way feels right for your family.
