Before You Book: What You Can Expect From Castle Color Photography
Choosing a photographer is a personal decision. Your photos are not just files you receive. They are memories you will look back on for years, and the person you choose to capture them should be someone whose work, style, and approach feel right for you.
At Castle Color Photography, I believe in creating meaningful images through a relaxed, personal experience. I do not believe in rushing through sessions, treating clients like a number, or simply checking a box and moving on to the next booking.
My goal is to create photographs that feel genuine, thoughtful, and timeless.
Choose Your Photographer Based on Their Work, Not Their Response Time
I want to share something important when choosing a photographer: I hope you never feel like you have to book someone simply because they were the first person to respond.
While I do my best to respond to inquiries in a timely manner, I do not believe photography should be chosen based solely on who replies the quickest.
Your photographer should be someone whose work speaks to you. Someone whose style matches the way you want your memories captured. Someone you feel comfortable trusting with important moments in your life.
I am not interested in competing by being the fastest response, the cheapest option, or the photographer who promises the quickest turnaround. I want my clients to choose me because they connect with my work and value the experience I provide.
Take the time to look through my portfolio, learn about my process, and decide if Castle Color Photography feels like the right fit for you.
The right photographer is not always the first person who answers. It is the person whose work makes you say, “That is exactly how I want to remember this moment.”
A More Intentional Approach to Scheduling
I intentionally book no more than two sessions per week.
This allows me the time and flexibility to truly focus on each person and family I work with. I want your session to feel relaxed, personal, and intentional, not rushed.
Limiting my schedule also allows room for the unexpected. Life does not always happen on a perfect timeline, and photography sessions are no different.
Sometimes little ones have a difficult day. Sometimes someone needs extra time to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Sometimes the weather changes. Sometimes the sunset we were hoping for simply does not show up.
I would rather create the best possible experience and beautiful images than force a session when the circumstances are not right.
Planning for Weather and Unexpected Situations
When we book your session, we will always choose two possible dates. Having a backup date allows us flexibility and gives us the best opportunity to capture the images you are hoping for.
If we need to use the backup date due to weather or circumstances outside of our control, I do ask for as much notice as possible.
I completely understand that life happens, but I reserve that time specifically for your session. A last minute cancellation while I am already traveling to your session does not allow me the opportunity to adjust my schedule or offer that time to another client.
For weather related decisions, we typically make the call by around 5:00 PM on the day of the session. My priority is always making the best decision for your final images and safety rather than forcing a session when conditions are not ideal. Though rain clouds can make for pretty pictures!
Communication
I am not always on Facebook, and some information you see there may not always be current. I do my best to check messages daily, but Facebook is not always the quickest way to reach me.
If you need a quicker response, texting is the best option:
252-305-1393
I do receive a large number of spam calls, so if you call, please leave a message. Once I know it is a real person trying to reach me, I will return your call as soon as I am available.
Social Media and My Portfolio
I do not post every session, or even every other session.
Some of my favorite images may never make it to Facebook or Instagram, and some sessions are kept private for my clients.

My Editing Process and Turnaround
I do not promise the fastest turnaround because I believe your images deserve more than a quick upload and a rushed edit.
Every gallery is carefully reviewed and edited with creativity, attention to detail, and care. I take the time to make sure I am delivering work that I am proud of and that you will love.
Photography is something I do because I genuinely enjoy it. It allows me to be creative, connect with people, and preserve important moments. The income is a bonus that comes from doing something I love.
I will never rush through your images simply to check a box. My goal is to deliver photographs that feel meaningful and that you will treasure for years.
Pricing
I understand that every family has different needs and budgets, which is why I offer several session packages.
You can view current pricing here:
I may not be the cheapest photographer. I may not be the fastest photographer. I may not be the right photographer for everyone.
And that is okay.
My goal is to provide a thoughtful experience, create beautiful images, and work with clients who value the time, creativity, and care that goes into every session.
Thank you for considering Castle Color Photography and for trusting me with your memories. It truly means more than you know.
